September 27, 2026

Dear Families,

Don't forget that school will be closed on Monday.  We look forward to seeing your student on Tuesday.

Tuesday is also picture day!

Please continue to review our ROAR expectations at home so that your student comes to school each day set up for success.

All toys should be left at home.  These become a distraction in class and around the building.

New Information

Megablast Fundraiser
Our megablast fundraiser is running now until October 2.  Proceeds from the fundraiser will go to the PTA and the school to fund various classroom projects, ROAR store incentives, House celebrations, and more!

Prizes are given throughout the fundraiser as valid emails are entered.

Remote Learning Packets
As we move into the start of the school year, HCPS would like to make families aware of the potential for Remote Learning Days.  These are specific days where student learning is not possible in our buildings due to a variety of reasons such as inclement weather, building maintenance, or other environmental factors.
The Division of Learning has provided teachers with instructional packets for students in Prek through 5th grade.  If your child’s teacher is unable to provide assignments prior to the announcement of a Remote Learning Day, students will have the ability to utilize the instructional packet found within your child’s permanent “Take Home” folder throughout the duration our district is closed.

Parents/Guardians, you can help us as the year moves along by ensuring this packet remains in your child’s “Take Home” folder.   If you find that the instructional packet has been damaged or lost, please contact your child’s teacher for a replacement.

These packets will be going home this week with the students and should stay in their yellow folders.

Fat Bear Week Spirit Day Celebration
Our students have been learning about Fat Bear Week in library and we will celebrate with a spirit Day: Wear Brown on September 30! 🐻

Students are invited to wear brown to school and show their bear spirit as we cheer on some of nature's biggest and healthiest bears. It's a fun way to learn about wildlife, conservation, and the amazing journey bears take to prepare for winter. We can't wait to see our school filled with brown bear pride!
